Brother, i’m starting to like this YouTube thing you’re doing, get the shows a little sooner.  I went  to sheepdog seminar in Chattanooga couple weeks ago, it’s amazing how different I feel… it was like a revival for Patriots. But anyway I was wondering if you ever put your info pack together.  The church security info pack you used to talk about every week that you were working on it but I don’t think you have mentioned it in a while. And you really don’t know how good you made me feel when you and Doug were talking about cigars the other day, so I guess I know what to get you for your birthday LOL. If there’s anything I can do to help the two of you and the show please let me know.  you and Doug are a true blessing!  by the way, this week’s show with Matt Reynolds, he is very impressive.

Comedy Corner
A Priest, A Minister, A Rabbi And A Bear
A priest, a minister, and a rabbi want to see who’s best at his job. So each one goes into the woods, finds
a bear, and attempts to convert it. Later, they all get together. The priest begins: “When I found the bear, I read to him from the catechism and sprinkled him with holy water. Next week is his first Communion.”

“I found a bear by the stream,” says the minister, “and preached God’s holy Word. The bear was so mesmerized that he let me baptize him.”

They both look down at the rabbi, who is lying on a gurney in a body cast. “Looking back,” he says, “maybe I shouldn’t have started with the
circumcision.”

Cannibal Jokes (Jeff Quinn)

  • A cannibal passed his brother in the woods.
  • Two cannibals were eating a clown. One looks up and says, “Does this taste funny to you?
  • One cannibal is telling the other, “I ate this priest wearing a robe and sandals yesterday, and he tasted terrible!”
The other one says, “Well, how did you cook him?”
    “Well, I boiled him.”
“There’s your problem. He was a FRIAR!”

Hi Troy and Doug. just finished my last drive for the week. 10 hours on the road + load and unload time. I just wanted to say you guy are still doing an awesome job and keep up the good content.

I’m just about ready to pick out my first pistol and I don’t know what do do. i need something for competition so I’m thinking 9mm. Now i have small hands and when shooting the Sig P226 in the army i found it to big. The one time i got to pick up a Glock the trigger felt squishy, is that what all glocks are like? i like the cz75. it sort of feels about right but haven’t shot it. Are there any pistols you would recommend? I would appreciate your thoughts on the subject. thanks.

2 suspects shot after attempted robbery on Abercorn St. near Truman Pkwy.
SAVANNAH, GA (WTOC) –
Two armed would-be thieves tried to stick up a Brinks truck parked near a storage business off Abercorn Street near the Truman Parkway. But the guards inside the truck were able to defend themselves and shot both suspects, who then ran from the scene but didn’t make it far.

“We had a great, timely response by the officers in the area. And we had some concerned citizens that helped us and guided us to the right direction. And that’s one of the reasons that this turned out as well as it did this afternoon,” said SCMPD Capt. Ashley Brown.
Neither Brinks employee was injured.

The suspects have been identified as Gregory Plair, 32 and Joshua Scott, 21. Both are facing charges of aggravated assault with intent to rob, criminal attempt at hijacking a motor vehicle and criminal attempt at armed robbery.

Thanks to assistance from the Brink’s security guards and local citizens, police were able to quickly apprehend one of the suspects at a nearby apartment complex. Minutes later the second suspect showed up at the hospital and was taken into custody.

Both suspects received treatment for non-life threatening injuries.

Sad But True
Unfortunately many homes, yes even so-called Christian homes, are like the one in which the little girl pointed to the Bible on the mantle that was never opened, and said to her mother, “Whose book is that?”

Her mother quite startled by her daughter’s question replied, “Why honey, don’t you know? That is God’s book!”

The child demonstrating that she had a very practical turn to her mind said, “Don’t you think that we had better give it back to him? No one around here ever reads it.”

The Whole Armor of God
10 Finally, be strong in the Lord and in the strength of his might. 11 Put on the whole armor of God, that you may be able to stand against the schemes of the devil. 12 For we do not wrestle against flesh and blood, but against the rulers, against the authorities, against the cosmic powers over this present darkness, against the spiritual forces of evil in the heavenly places. 13 Therefore take up the whole armor of God, that you may be able to withstand in the evil day, and having done all, to stand firm. 14 Stand therefore, having fastened on the belt of truth, and having put on the breastplate of righteousness, 15 and, as shoes for your feet, having put on the readiness given by the gospel of peace. 16 In all circumstances take up the shield of faith, with which you can extinguish all the flaming darts of the evil one; 17 and take the helmet of salvation, and the sword of the Spirit, which is the word of God, 18 praying at all times in the Spirit, with all prayer and supplication. To that end keep alert with all perseverance, making supplication for all the saints, 19 and also for me, that words may be given to me in opening my mouth boldly to proclaim the mystery of the gospel, 20 for which I am an ambassador in chains, that I may declare it boldly, as I ought to speak. The Dead Mule

A Pastor went to his church office on Monday morning and discovered a dead mule in the church yard. He telephoned the police. Since there did not appear to be any foul play, the police referred the Pastor to the Health Department.

They explained, “Since there was no health threat you’ll need to call the Sanitation Department.”

When the pastor called the Sanitation Department, the Manager of the Sanitation Department said, “I can’t pick up that dead mule without authorization from the mayor.”

The Pastor was not at all too eager to call the mayor, who possessed a very bad temper and was always extremely unpleasant and hard to deal with, but, eventually, the Pastor called the mayor anyway.

The mayor did not disappoint the Pastor. The mayor immediately began to rant and rave. After his continued rant at the pastor, the mayor finally said, “Why did you call me any way? Isn’t your job to bury the dead?”

The pastor paused for a brief prayer, and asked the Lord to direct his response. The lord led the pastor to the words he was seeking, “Yes, Mayor, it IS my job to bury the dead, BUT I always like to notify the next of kin first!”

Put Not Your Trust in Princes

1 Praise the Lord! Praise the Lord, O my soul! 2 I will praise the Lord as long as I live; I will sing praises to my God while I have my being. 3 Put not your trust in princes, in a son of man, in whom there is no salvation. 4 When his breath departs, he returns to the earth; on that very day his plans perish. 5 Blessed is he whose help is the God of Jacob, whose hope is in the Lord his God, 6 who made heaven and earth, the sea, and all that is in them, who keeps faith forever; 7 who executes justice for the oppressed, who gives food to the hungry. The Lord sets the prisoners free; 8 the Lord opens the eyes of the blind. The Lord lifts up those who are bowed down; the Lord loves the righteous. 9 The Lord watches over the sojourners; he upholds the widow and the fatherless, but the way of the wicked he brings to ruin. 10 The Lord will reign forever, your God, O Zion, to all generations. Arizona trooper shot in ambush attack; Good Samaritan kills gunman

By ABC7.com staff

Thursday, January 12, 2017 08:16PM

TONOPAH, Ariz. (KABC) —

An Arizona trooper trying to help a motorist in a rollover crash was shot in an ambush-style attack by a random suspect, who was then fatally shot by a Good Samaritan driving by.

The trooper with the Arizona Department of Public Safety (DPS) was at a traffic stop when he received a report about a driver whose car was shot at near a median at milepost 81 on Interstate 10, reported ABC15, an ABC affiliate in Arizona.

The trooper left the traffic stop to investigate this call when he came across a rollover crash and saw that a woman had been ejected from the wreckage.

When the trooper began working to block lanes, a suspect came from an unknown direction and “ambushed” him, according to DPS.

The suspect shot him at least once in the chest-shoulder area and fought the trooper to the ground.

A passerby saw the fight unfolding and stopped to render aid to the trooper, who asked for help.

However, the suspect ignored the Good Samaritan’s orders to stop attacking the trooper.

That’s when the passerby went to his car, grabbed a gun and fatally shot the suspect, reported ABC15.

DPS said the injured trooper, who has been with the department for 27 years, was taken to an area hospital, where he was awaiting surgery. He is in stable condition.

The woman who was ejected in the rollover crash died from her injuries, authorities said. The cause of the wreck was not known.

DPS Col. Frank Milstead said he has yet to speak to the passerby, but he had this message for him:

“Thank you because I don’t know if my trooper would be alive today without your assistance.”

The incident was under investigation.

The Duck Dog
An avid duck hunter was in the market for a new bird dog. His search ended when he found a dog that could actually walk on water to retrieve a duck. Shocked by his find, he was sure none of his friends would ever believe him. He decided to try to break the news to a friend of his, the eternal pessimist who refused to be impressed with anything. This, surely, would impress him. He invited him to hunt with him and his new dog. As they waited by the shore, a flock of ducks flew by. they fired, and a duck fell. The dog responded and jumped into the water. The dog, however, did not sink but instead walked across the water to retrieve the bird, never getting more than his paws wet. This continued all day long; each time a duck fell, the dog walked across the surface of the water to retrieve it. The pessimist watched carefully, saw everything, but did not say a single word. On the drive home the hunter asked his friend, “Did you notice anything unusual about my new dog?” “I sure did,” responded the pessimist. “He can’t swim.”

Abide in my love. 10 If you keep my commandments, you will abide in my love, just as I have kept my Father’s commandments and abide in his love. 11 These things I have spoken to you, that my joy may be in you, and that your joy may be full. Today in 1815, Americans defeat British forces at the Battle of New Orleans!

Did you know that we used to celebrate January 8 as a national holiday, with fireworks & celebrations, just like the Fourth of July!

We felt that we’d won the war that was, effectively, our 2nd war of independence! The outcome of the Revolution had been more than just a fluke!

On December 24, 1814, Great Britain and the United States signed a treaty in Ghent, Belgium that effectively ended the War of 1812. News was slow to cross the pond, however, and on January 8, 1815, the two sides met in what is remembered as one of the conflict’s biggest and most decisive engagements. In the bloody Battle of New Orleans, future President Andrew Jackson and a motley assortment of militia fighters, frontiersmen, slaves, Indians and even pirates weathered a frontal assault by a superior British force, inflicting devastating casualties along the way. The victory vaulted Jackson to national stardom, and helped foil plans for a British invasion of the American frontier.

Man shot during home invasion; suspect in custody
NORFOLK, Va. (WAVY) — Police have a man in custody for a burglary that ended with two people shot. Officers were called to a home in the 7900 block of Victory Drive in Wards Corner around 1:30 a.m. on Wednesday. They arrived to find two men suffering from gunshot wounds. Both men were taken to Sentara Norfolk General Hospital and are both expected to fully recover from their injuries. Detectives have determined that 22-year-old Robert Hicks forced his way into the home, then exchanged gunfire with a 23-year-old man inside. Both men were shot. Hicks is charged with armed burglary, according to Norfolk Police. A witness at the scene told 10 On Your Side, “I was sleeping and about an hour ago, and we heard, pop, pop gunshots. My son immediately came to the room,  woke me up … I look out my window, and I see them (police) out there with their guns drawn.” This witness, who did not want to be identified, said she heard police tell a man to “get on the ground” at least 10 times. She said she feared there was going to be a standoff between that man and officers.

New years resolution
John, at a New Year’s party, turns to his friend, Dave, and asks for a smoke.

“I thought you made a New Year’s resolution and that you don’t smoke,” Dave says.

“I’m in the process of quitting,” replies John with a grin. “I am in the middle of phase one.”

“Phase one?” asks David.

“Yeah,” laughs John, “I’ve quit buying.”

George Suprenant

Hello Brothers,

This month my Wife and I celebrated our daughter’s first birthday and I wanted to thank you for the show.  It has helped me through self doubt, overtime to make ends meet, and long nights with a fussy baby.

Our daughter is such a blessing and a MUCH better child than I deserve.

I joke with my Wife that if God never gives you more than you can handle then I must be a lightweight with how good she is.

Our decision to have my Wife be a stay at home mom has predictably made things a little tight money wise and I have been praying with my Daughter every night for God to give me wisdom to make good choices with our money.

If you guys have room for us in a prayer I sure would appreciate it.

Thank you for your time and congratulations on the move and new expanded video capability.   It has been great to see you guys on YouTube!

George.

Weekly Bible Verses:
James 4:13-17

Come now, you who say, “Today or tomorrow we will go into such and such a town and spend a year there and trade and make a profit”— yet you do not know what tomorrow will bring. What is your life? For you are a mist that appears for a little time and then vanishes. Instead you ought to say, “If the Lord wills, we will live and do this or that.” As it is, you boast in your arrogance. All such boasting is evil. So whoever knows the right thing to do and fails to do it, for him it is sin.

MABLETON, GA (CBS46) –

Two men tried to outgun the owner of a gun store in Mableton, but it did not work out as planned.

It happened Monday morning at the Dixie Gun and Pawn on Veterans Memorial Highway in Cobb County.

Jimmy Groover told police two men wearing masks came in with guns drawn, demanding that he get on the floor, while shouting they were going to kill him.

Groover said he was wearing a pistol on his hip, and he used it to fire back at the robbers, killing one of them.

Police said a series of bullets were fired in both directions.

One of the store’s front windows was shattered from a gunshot.

The other man escaped in a silver Dodge Charger.

Groover and his family have run the store in the same location for about 30 years. He said his store has been broken into more times than he can remember, but no one has ever tried to rob the place while it was open.

Mistletoe
Shortly before Christmas, a business man was anxious to get home. The business trip had been grueling and he was not in a particularly good mood. The airport loudspeakers blared Christmas carols he was sick of hearing. He thought their decorations were tacky. The worst decoration, he thought, was the plastic mistletoe hung over the luggage scale.

Being in a grumpy mood, he said to the woman at the counter, “You know, even if I weren’t married, I wouldn’t kiss you.”

“That’s not what it’s there for,” said the attendant. “It’s so you can kiss your luggage goodbye.”

Hey Troy,
I love your show! So glad I found your podcast, I look forward to listening every week. I’ve been wanting to get into deer hunting, but not sure where to start. I’m thinking a .270 or 30-06 cartridge, and some people from my church have said a good rifle would be Winchester 70, Remington 700 or a vanguard weatherby? I just wanted your guys opinion on these thing and if you have any other budget minded suggestions for a beginner. Thanks for your time and God bless

Off Duty Deputy Assaulted
KHOU Houston Tx

PORTER, Texas- The Montgomery County Sheriff’s Office is asking for the public’s help in identifying three suspects accused of assaulting and attempting to rob an off-duty deputy at a convenience store on Saturday night.

According to MCSO, the incident happened around 6:50 p.m. at Summer Hills Food Mart located in the 24200 block of Sorters Road.

Authorities said the Montgomery County deputy and his wife had stopped at the store to get bags of ice for a trip. He was in his private vehicle.

The deputy’s wife then got out of the truck with a handgun. The deputy and his wife shot at the suspects and their vehicle.

Detectives believe there was a third suspect in the car during the robbery attempt.

Several agencies have attempted to locate the suspects no success. The Houston Police Department recovered a stolen vehicle believed to be the one in this incident.

2 Blessed is the man against whom the Lord counts no iniquity,

3 For when I kept silent, my bones wasted away

through my groaning all day long.

4 For day and night your hand was heavy upon me;

my strength was dried up as by the heat of summer. Selah

5 I acknowledged my sin to you,

I said, “I will confess my transgressions to the Lord,”

Man shoots 2 armed men who tried to rob him at ATM, police say

PITTSBURGH – A man shot two would-be robbers early Thursday an ATM in Homewood, according to Pittsburgh police.

The 42-year-old man told police he was using an ATM on North Homewood Avenue shortly after 1 a.m., when two masked 16-year-olds with guns approached him and tried to rob him.

Police said he pulled out his own gun and shot one of the would-be robbers in the leg and the other in the stomach. The man, who was not injured, had a license to carry the firearm. “The victim happened to have a weapon that he is licensed to carry and he used that to defend himself in this situation,” police spokesperson Sonya Toler said.

Both of the would-be robbers were taken to the hospital in stable condition.

Police recovered the teenagers’ guns at the scene.

Charges against them are pending.

Hillary Clinton died and went to heaven. As she stood in front of Saint Peter at the Pearly Gates, she saw a huge wall of clocks behind him. She asked, “What are all those clocks?”

Saint Peter answered, “Those are Lie-Clocks. Everyone on Earth has a Lie-Clock.

Every time you lie, the hands on your clock will move.

“Oh,” said Hillary, “whose clock is that?”

“That’s Mother Teresa’s. The hands have never moved indicating that she never told a lie.”

“Whose clock is that?”

“That’s Abraham Lincoln’s clock. The hands have only moved twice telling us that Abe only told 2 lies in his entire life.”

“Where’s my clock?” Hillary asked.

“Your clock is in Jesus’ office. He’s using it as a ceiling fan.”

Hey Troy and Doug, thank you again for the show. What are y’all’s view on the protesting and rioting over the election. Do you believe the Millennial presence in these protests are a result of no discipline as a child? As a Millennial myself, I am disappointed in my generation. A good portion of us are normal, but we all get lumped with the cry baby protesters. I believe it is time for them to step into the real world and see complaining about something that you don’t agree with doesn’t fly in the business world.

P.S. i would like to take you up on the sample of frog lube. I want to try it out and compare it to Rem-Oil.

Hi Troy,

I just finished your latest podcast and I too love when the leaves begin to turn and fall, it means deer hunting is not far away.  I love to apply and thrilled if I get drawn for a general deer permit on the Navajo Indian Reservation.  I’m a tribal member and have been doing most of my hunting on the reservation, from a small boy with my dad to now with my wife and daughter.  I love going back out and seeing the areas that remind me of my childhood and now making memories with my family.

I appreciate the topic this past week and look forward to the next podcast.  The election is over and God’s candidate has been elected and I will continue to pray for our president (Mr. Trump) and his administration to bring God back into our Country.

See the attached picture of my daughter’s deer shot last month on the Navajo Indian Reservation.

thank you and God bless.  I love the crossbreed holsters and hope to get some froglube soon.

Passerby shoots, kills motorist assaulting deputy after traffic stop

Published November 15, 2016 FoxNews.com

A driver who attacked a Florida sheriff’s deputy Monday morning was shot and killed by a bystander who warned him to stop beating the officer, according to a report.

The incident began at around 9:30 a.m. when the Lee County deputy tried to make a traffic stop on Interstate 75 in Estero. Instead of complying, witnesses said the driver took off, reaching speeds of more than 100 miles per hour.

The deputy chased the suspect onto an exit ramp, where a witness said the suspect got out of his car and assaulted his pursuer.

Shanta Holditch told WZVN that the suspect pulled the deputy out of his car and “just kept beating him and beating him … throwing him to the ground and punching him in all different directions.”

At that point, WINK reported, another driver got out of his car and ran to the scene. He told the suspect that he’d shoot him if he didn’t stop beating the deputy.

“[He] refused to get off the officer and the officer kept yelling, ‘shoot him, shoot him, shoot him,’ Holditch said.

When the suspect didn’t stop his attack, the third man shot him three times. The deputy was not hit. The suspect later died.

“I heard like three shots. He fell down on top of the police officer,” said a witness who would only give his last name, Smith.  “After a moment, the police officer rolled him back over, got on his mic, then rolled over back on the ground besides the guy.”

Authorities have not identified the suspect or the person who shot him and it was unclear if charges would be sought. WINK reported that the suspect was armed and the bystander who shot him possessed a concealed weapons license.

WINK identified the deputy as Dean Bardes, a 12-year veteran of the Lee County Sheriff’s Office. He was briefly hospitalized with minor injuries, but later released

The southbound off-ramp at Exit 123 was reopened Monday evening after being closed for several hours while investigators worked the scene.

Comedy Corner
Cat for Sale
An art connoisseur passed a little grocery in New York when he noticed a kitten on the front step lapping up some milk in a bowl. The cat was mangy with one ear half chewed off and clumps of fur missing. What really caught the collector’s eye was the bowl the kitten was drinking from. It was a rare antique worth thousands. He walks in the store and offers $20.00 for the cat. “He’s not for sale.” Says the store owner. “That’s ridiculous!” Says the collector. “He is one of the ugliest cats I’ve seen. He must be for sale. I’ll give you $100.00 for him.” The store owner thought for a second and said “It’s a deal.” The connoisseur hands the store owner the money, which he quickly pockets, and as he starts out the store asks “For that price I’m sure you don’t mind sending that old bowl with him. He seems so happy drinking from it.” The store owner says ” No way. That’s my lucky bowl. From that bowl I’ve sold 26 cats this week!”

Listener Feedback
Troy/Doug, I came across a couple quotes that you might enjoy. I think our founding fathers were on to something.

“The laws that forbid the carrying of arms are laws of such a nature. They disarm only those who are neither inclined nor determined to commit crimes…. Such laws make things worse for the assaulted and better for the assailants; they serve rather to encourage than to prevent homicides, for an unarmed man may be attacked with greater confidence than an armed man.”
– Thomas Jefferson, Commonplace Book (quoting 18th century criminologist Cesare Beccaria), 1774-1776

“Before a standing army can rule, the people must be disarmed, as they are in almost every country in Europe. The supreme power in America cannot enforce unjust laws by the sword; because the whole body of the people are armed, and constitute a force superior to any band of regular troops.”
– Noah Webster, An Examination of the Leading Principles of the Federal Constitution, October 10, 1787

Doug,

Thank you to you and Troy for the excellent content on your podcasts.  I enjoy hearing perspectives that are more in line with mine and not the typical WA drivel that is so prevalent around here.  I’d like to take you up on your offer for a free Frog Lube Extreme trial pack.  I was all set to pick up some of the original, but then heard stories of it freezing which made me back down from the purchase.  Thank you in advance, and thank you again for the show!

In Him,

Weekly Bible Verses:

1 Oh give thanks to the Lord, for he is good; for his steadfast love endures forever!
2 Let Israel say, “His steadfast love endures forever.”
3 Let the house of Aaron say, “His steadfast love endures forever.”
4 Let those who fear the Lord say, “His steadfast love endures forever.”
5 Out of my distress I called on the Lord; the Lord answered me and set me free.
6 The Lord is on my side; I will not fear. What can man do to me?
7 The Lord is on my side as my helper; I shall look in triumph on those who hate me.
8 It is better to take refuge in the Lord than to trust in man.
9 It is better to take refuge in the Lord than to trust in princes.
10 All nations surrounded me; in the name of the Lord I cut them off!
11 They surrounded me, surrounded me on every side; in the name of the Lord I cut them off!
12 They surrounded me like bees; they went out like a fire among thorns;
in the name of the Lord I cut them off!
13 I was pushed hard, so that I was falling, but the Lord helped me.
14 The Lord is my strength and my song; he has become my salvation.
15 Glad songs of salvation are in the tents of the righteous: “The right hand of the Lord does valiantly,
16 the right hand of the Lord exalts, the right hand of the Lord does valiantly!”
17 I shall not die, but I shall live, and recount the deeds of the Lord.
18 The Lord has disciplined me severely, but he has not given me over to death.
19 Open to me the gates of righteousness, that I may enter through them and give thanks to the Lord.
20 This is the gate of the Lord; the righteous shall enter through it.
21 I thank you that you have answered me and have become my salvation.
22 The stone that the builders rejected has become the cornerstone.
23 This is the Lord’s doing; it is marvelous in our eyes.
24 This is the day that the Lord has made; let us rejoice and be glad in it.
25 Save us, we pray, O Lord! O Lord, we pray, give us success!
26 Blessed is he who comes in the name of the Lord! We bless you from the house of the Lord.
27 The Lord is God, and he has made his light to shine upon us. Bind the festal sacrifice with cords, up to the horns of the altar!
28 You are my God, and I will give thanks to you; you are my God; I will extol you.
29 Oh give thanks to the Lord, for he is good; for his steadfast love endures forever!

Clarkston resident shoots, kills intruder; two suspects arrested
DECATUR, Ga. – Two men have been arrested for their involvement in a home invasion in Clarkston that left a third suspect dead.

According to the DeKalb County Sheriff’s Office, Benjamin Jeffrey Florence, 26, and Tyler Alexander Brown, 21, are both charged with felony murder. Officials say Florence and Brown conspired with Curtis Bernard Turner, 32, and forced their way into a home on Parkline Drive on October 10. Once inside, deputies say an assault occurred and Turner was shot to death by an occupant of the residence.
